In Memory of Anita Miller

At the age of 84, Anita Miller died on February 23, 2001. A native of New York City, she graduated from Hunter College in 1949 and received a Certificate of Medical Librarianship from MLA in 1956. Her career as a Medical Librarian began at the Kings County Medical Society Library. She moved to the Catalog Department at Downstate Medical Center Library when the two libraries merged in 1962. In 1982 she retired from Downstate but continued to be an active traveler and theater goer.

Colleagues will remember her prodigious memory for poetry, Shakespeare and lyrics to Broadway musicals. Though barely five feet tall, she had a quick step and a mind that seemed to race ahead of the usual pace of conversation. We shall miss her company.
