2020 Annual Meeting-Guest Speakers

 

Lisa K. Traditi (she/her/hers), associate professor and deputy director, Strauss Health Sciences Library, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus-Aurora, was a hospital librarian for 9 years in the Denver metro area before joining the faculty of the library at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in 1996. In addition to being the 2020-21 MLA President, Lisa has served MLA as a member and secretary of the Board of Directors, co-chair of the Annual Meeting Task Force, Chair of the MLA News Editor Search Committee, Nominating Committee, and the Chapter Council. She has been active in different MLA Sections including: Educational Media and Technologies; Leadership & Management; Medical Informatics, and Public Services. She has twice been chair of the Mid-Continental Chapter of MLA (MCMLA) and was president of the Colorado Council of Medical Librarians (CCML). Also, she has served as the local co-coordinator for Supporting Clinical Care: An Institute in Evidence-Based Practice for Medical Librarians. She received her MLS from the University of Arizona in 1984 and is a Distinguished member of the MLA’s Academy of Health Information Professionals. Kate Flewelling (she/her/hers) is the Executive Director of the Network of the National Library of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region, based at the University of Pittsburgh. After beginning her career as an Associate Fellow at the National Library of Medicine, she was Coordinator of Instruction for the SUNY Upstate Medical University Health Sciences Library. She has been with NNLM MAR since 2011 and Executive Director since 2017. In 2017, she was named one of 50 Distinguished Alumni of the School of Information Studies, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She is the current Chair of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Medical Library.
