From the Editors

We are delighted to debut the online version of the New York-New Jersey Chapter Newsletter. We are equally excited to announce the content changes that we’ve worked hard to realize, and that we hope will inform, engage, and interest our members.

In addition to providing local news and events, we are now proud to present regular columns and contributors:

  • Pat Gallagher’s Web Watch will survey the best of the net
  • Joanne Jahr will provide news about NLM locally and nationally via RML Update
  • Kathel Dunn will keep us up-to-date with what we need to read professionally In the Literature
  • Robert Joven will explore issues and ideas in Hospital Library Notes
  • Nancy Glassman’s Technology Report will provide the buzz about hardware and software
  • Kris Alpi will disseminate the science behind the medicine in Brave New World

Future issues will feature Pat Regenberg relaying BHSL News, and Roberta Bronson Fitzpatrick discussing Management Rx. Patricia Tomasulo's Focus on Complementary/Alternative Medicine will appear occasionally and begins with this issue.

The editors would like to thank Yini Zhu of the Microcomputer/Media Center, George F. Smith Library, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, for her creation and design of the experimental previous Newsletter issue. Her expertise and willingness to assist have significantly helped the Chapter's online Newsletter project get underway.
