A Woman's Hand: Designing Textiles in America, 1945 - 1969

Celebrating the work of women textile designers during the mid 20th century, this exhibition explores their roles and highlights their contributions to the American textile industry. More info on the FIT calendar.

Biographical Information on the Speakers

George Lundberg, M.D.,

Best known to most people as the former editor of JAMA, Dr. Lundberg has also served as Editor in Chief, Scientific Information and Multimedia for the American Medical Association.

His past endeavors include a stint in the US Army, Professor of Pathology, and past President of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He holds earned and honorary degrees from: North Park College, Baylor University, University of Alabama, SUNY Syracuse, Thomas Jefferson University and the Medical College of Ohio.

In 1999 Dr. Lundberg became Editor in Chief of Medscape and the founding Editor in Chief of both Medscape General Medicine and CBS HealthWatch.com. In 2000, the Industry Standard dubbed Dr. Lundberg "the Healthcare Internet's Medicine Man."

Cynthia Wade, RN, MSN

Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of placement provides practical ways to create and manage the elements in every environment. Learn how to adjust your surroundings to stimulate your life by enhancing physical and emotional well-being, relationships with others, and self-actualization.

Ms. Wade holds a BSN from Lehman College, her MSN in Nursing Adminstration and a Post-Master's Certificate in Holistic Nursing from the College of New Rochelle, and is a certified Feng Shui instructor.

Ms. Wade has spoken at numerous Feng Shui, women's health and holistic nursing events. She is a member of the Feng Shui Institute of America and has established Feng Shui Directions--for the creation of harmony and balance in the home and work environments.
